Individual Psychotherapy

Individual psychotherapy sessions typically run 45-60 minutes, and are completed on Zoom, a HIPAA compliant telehealth platform. These sessions focus on the identified patient’s goals and concerns.

Family Therapy

Family therapy sessions typically run 50-55 minutes and include one or more family member. These sessions focus on improving family dynamics, relationships and communication.

Parent only sessions

Parent only sessions also typically run 50-55 minutes, and focus on helping parents learn effective strategies to help their children achieve their goals.

What do I need to do to schedule?

What do I need to complete before the first appointment? 

Please contact us to complete the required initial paperwork, including consent forms. 

Can you describe the initial appointment process? 

The initial appointment typically runs 60 minutes and involves meeting with Dr. Tice to complete an in-depth diagnostic evaluation to gather more information regarding current concerns, as well as history. During this evaluation, Dr. Tice will work collaboratively with you to determine the optimal treatment plan and make initial recommendations regarding treatment and interventions. The format and who attends this initial appointment depends upon the presenting concerns and age of the client. Speak with Dr. Tice to determine the best plan. 

Where are you licensed?

Dr. Tice is licensed in Maryland (License #06131), and also has PSYPACT authorization, which allows in him to see patients virtually from 37 states and territories, including: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Mariana Islands, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming. Contact Dr. Tice if outside of those areas.

Do you offer in-person or virtual appointments?

Dr. Tice meets with clients both virtually and in-person. 

How does payment work? Do you accept insurance?

Dr. Tice is considered “out of network” for insurance companies, and does not participate in any insurance network. Payment is due upon completion of the session, and clients pay Dr. Tice directly or via invoice. All major credit cards, checks, and cash are accepted. Please contact Dr. Tice regarding fees. If your insurance company offers out-of-network benefits, you could receive some reimbursement for the cost of treatment, and will receive a “Superbill” or documentation that you can submit to your insurance.  

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. An estimate of out-of-pocket service costs is available upon request.

What if I miss my appointment? 

Dr. Tice has a 24-hour late cancellation policy, after which a late-fee may be assessed for missed appointments.
